I'm not sure why music and sports journalists are often such dreadful people. I've met a few of them and they seem to think they're as important as the bands. It often and bizarrely the case for those who run record shops.

That sounds about right. Unless it's Joy Division, he doesn't seem interested.
Of course, as I've done above, express your passions, but I never trust self-appointed cultural gatekeepers, especially when they offer so little.
